L'AENU (« Armée d'exploration des Nations unies ») est une armée imaginaire dans le cycle de La Guerre éternelle; elle est placée sous le commandedement de l'ONU, qui dans le roman est devenu un véritable gouvernement mondial.


L'AENU était auparavant la « société de colonisation » qui, avec la rencontre avec les Taurans, est amenée à devenir militaire.

Les Terriens prononcent le sigle "énu", tandis que ceux qui sont nés sur les planètes colonisées le prononcent "a-enu".

Cordon pourpre

Un cordon pourpre au galon indique que le militaire qui le porte s'est battu dans l'ancienne armée américaine.
