Les A*Teens étaient un groupe de pop musique originaire de Stockholm, en Suède. Formé en 1998, ce groupe a été créé en hommage au groupe suédois ABBA, avec, comme leurs aînés, quatre membres : Marie Serneholt, Dhani Lennevald, Sara Lumholdt et Amit Sebastian Paul. Dans un premier temps appelé ABBA Teens, le groupe a finalement été rebaptisé A*Teens.

The ABBA Generation

Le premier album du groupe, sorti en 1999 et appelé , reprend les plus célèbres de chansons d'ABBA, avec notamment Mamma Mia, Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight), Super Trouper, One Of Us, Dancing Queen, Voulez-Vous...

Le single est en tête des ventes en Suède pendant huit semaines[1]. Le groupe se lance alors dans une tournée aux États-Unis. L'album devient rapidement un succès mondial, avec plus de 6 millions d'albums vendus à travers le monde entre 1999 et 2001.[2]

En février 2001, ils sortent l'album Teen Spirit, cette fois exclusivement composé de chansons de leur cru, sauf une. La chanson Heartbreak Lullaby est employée dans la bande originale du film Princesse malgré elle. Un autre innovation de cet album est que les garçons chantent.

Les albums Pop 'Til You Drop! et New Arrival suivent. Leur reprise de Can't Help Falling In Love d'Elvis Presley est employée dans la bande originale de Lilo & Stitch.

En 2004, ils sortent un album , qui est une compilation de leurs précédents albums, avec une chanson inédite, I Promised Myself, reprise de Nick Kamen. Ils cessent ensuite toute activité commune.

Le 15 avril 2006, leur site internet annonce officiellement la séparation du groupe. Les membres ont entamé des carrières en solo, avec plus ou moins de succès.
