Capercaillie

Capercaillie est un groupe de musique folk écossais, de renom international, fondé par Donald Shaw en 1984. Il trouve son inspiration dans le répertoire traditionnel celtique. La chanteuse Karen Matheson, dont Sean Connery aurait dit : «  Sa voix est bénie des dieux  », a participé à l'Héritage des Celtes de Dan Ar Braz, dans les années 1990. En 2003, on lui a décerné le titre de « Best Gaelic singer », lors du Scottish folk. À l'occasion des 20 ans du groupe un double-cd compilation est sorti en 2004. Le nom Capercaillie vient du gaélique capull coille, qui signifie « cheval des bois », une variété de coq de bruyère.
