The Bogeymen est un groupe de Garage_rock/60's formé à Angoulême par le compositeur/chanteur/guitariste Laurent Bauer au début des années 90.

Biographie

La composition du groupe a énormément évolué au fil des années mais Yves Le Diraison est resté le bassiste la majeure partie de l'histoire du groupe, Laurent Bauer restant le pilier central autour duquel le groupe évoluait. Leurs influences principales furent probablement The Creeps, un groupe de garage suédois dirigé par Robert Jelinek et the Prisoners, le groupe mod/psychédélique de la medway formé par Graham Day ainsi que des groupes des années soixante comme The Remains, The Sonics, etc...

Le premier 45 tour des Bogeymen s'intitule "you are on my mind/candy" et est sorti sur F.F.Fascination records (fff 004) suivit de "the bogeymen... as live as you want them" , un live enregistré en studio et "you've got not scruples/let me give you my love/gimme a little sign", un 3 titres sorti sur le label anglais detour records.

2 albums sont également publiés chez dig!! records, " introducing The Bogeymen" et "Action time"

Le groupe se sépare en 1996 et Laurent Bauer part fonder "the lost minds" dans le même registre mais avec une touche un peu plus "heavy"/70's.Le groupe signe sur detour records à nouveau pour 2 45 tours "now I'm alone/you cry" et "look yourself straight in the face/just a mask" et un album "express jerky motions", Après la séparation de ce groupe Laurent monte successivement plusieurs projets: Superphonic, Moon Fargo and Venus Paradise dans des styles allant de la white soul à l'electro pop.
