Bo Yang

Bo Yang (sinogrammes traditionnels : 柏楊 ; sinogrammes simplifiés : 柏杨 ; hanyu pinyin : Băi Yáng ; prononciation taïwanaise : Bó Yáng) est un écrivain chinois né à Kaifeng le 7 mars 1920[1] et mort à Taipei le 19 avril 1008.

Biographie

Son nom à la naissance est Guo Libang (郭立邦) et Bo Yang est son nom de plume. Bo Yang a été emprisonné pendant 8 ans pour une traduction du dessin animé Popeye parce que la traduction fut interprétée comme une critique du dirigeant Tchang Kaï-chek. Durant son temps en prison, il a écrit des essais sur l'histoire de la Chine.

En 1949, il s'installe à Taïwan. Il meurt à Taipei le 29 avril 2008 à l'âge de 88 ans.
