Tharman Shanmugaratnam (tamoul : தர்மன் சண்முகரத்தினம், chinois simplifié : 尚达曼), né en 1957, est un homme politique singapourien. Membre du Parti d'action populaire (PAP), le parti au pouvoir, il est ministre des Finances de son pays depuis 2007[1]. Il a également été ministre de l'Éducation de 2003 à 2008[2].
Jeunesse
Né en 1957, il est d'ascendance tamoule sri-lankaise. Après des études à l'École anglo-chinoise, il a obtenu un baccalauréat en sciences économiques à la London School of Economics puis une maîtrise en économie à l'université de Cambridge, et une maîtrise en administration publique à l'université Harvard, où il a reçu un Lucius N. Littauer Fellow Award en récompense de son travail remarquable.
