Bob Winner est un jeu d'action-aventure développé par Loriciel (dénommé Loriciels à l'époque). Il est sorti en 1986 sur Amstrad CPC et MS-DOS, puis en 1987 sur Atari ST et en 1988 sur Commodore 64.

Système de jeu

Le jeu consiste à avancer en évitant des obstacles divers (guêpes, cailloux, barils, marécages, etc.) et en ramassant des objets permettant de progresser dans l'aventure[1].

Il y a un total de six objets à collecter :

  • Les trois premiers : une chaussure, un gant de boxe et un pistolet, permettent d'affronter trois ennemis en imitant leur méthode de combat, respectivement un pratiquant de savate, un boxeur et un cow-boy.
  • Trois clés, obtenues en vainquant les trois adversaires sus-mentionnés.

Une fois les trois clés obtenues, le joueur peut accéder à la salle finale, un temple précolombien, où il devra répondre correctement à quatre questions de logique.

Graphismes

Les graphismes étaient impressionnants pour l'époque[2] :

  • Sur Amstrad CPC, le jeu fonctionne en « mode 1 »[N 1], ce qui le limite à quatre couleurs mais offre en contrepartie une résolution élevée de 320×200 pixels.
  • Sur PC, il peut fonctionner en CGA ou en EGA, ce dernier offrant un meilleur rendu. Bob Winner fut l'un des premiers jeux à supporter le mode EGA. En raison d'un choix de couleurs limité aux seize couleurs du mode texte, le contraste était un peu moins bon que sur Amstrad CPC.
  • Sur Atari ST, les graphismes sont proches de la version Amstrad CPC, mais légèrement plus détaillés.
  • La version Commodore 64 est en revanche de moindre qualité, à cause des limites de cette plate-forme dans les résolutions élevées.
