Michael Barrett Watson est un acteur américain né le 23 avril 1974 à Traverse City, dans le Michigan (États-Unis).

Biographie

À huit ans, il déménage à Dallas, au Texas, et commence sa carrière dans une agence de mannequins. Il tourne quelques publicités, puis il part en Californie pour faire du cinéma.

Il débute dans le soap Des jours et des vies en 1990. Il y fait d'ailleurs la connaissance de Jensen Ackles, le héros de Supernatural. Puis il tourne dans quelques séries télévisées telles que Alerte à Malibu ou encore Nash Bridges.

C'est en 1996 qu'on lui propose le rôle de Matt Camden dans la série Sept à la maison. Au cinéma, en parallèle, on peut le voir dans des films comme Mrs. Tingle avec Katie Holmes ou encore Route sans issue.

Au début de l'année 2002, Barry apprend qu'il est atteint de la maladie de Hodgkin. Il quitte donc la série qui l'a fait connaître et se bat alors contre la maladie. Il finit par s'en sortir. Une fois guéri, Barry Watson reprend le taureau par les cornes et continue de vivre de sa passion : le cinéma.

Marié le 14 juillet 2006 à l'actrice Tracy Hutson, ils ont eu deux enfants. Oliver, né en mai 2005, et Felix, né en novembre 2007.
