The Crown est un groupe suédois de death/thrash metal originaire de Trollhättan. Au début de leur carrière, leur nom était Crown of Thorns, mais ils durent l'abandonner car un autre groupe se l'était déjà approprié. Leur musique et leurs textes sont inspirés par la mort, la lutte contre la religion (particulièrement la chrétienté), et la rébellion. Ils sont réputés pour avoir mélangé leurs influences death et thrash. L'activité de The Crown cessa en 2004, après quoi leur chanteur Johan Lindstrand forma un groupe nommé One Man Army and the Undead Quartet. Le guitariste Marco Tervonen et le batteur Janne Saarenpää formèrent Angel Blake, dont le nom vient d'une chanson de Danzig.
Le 1er décembre 2009, The Crown annonce son retour en lieu et place du projet Dobermann[pas clair].
