Speed grapher est un anime de 24 épisodes, issue du studio Gonzo Digimation, et dont la première diffusion s'est déroulée du 07/04/2005 au 29/09/2005 sur la chaine de télévision japonaise Asahi (テレビ朝日)

Speed Grapher conte l'histoire de Saiga, un photographe dont l'activité ressemble moins à du journalisme qu'à des enquêtes policières.

Ce qui suit dévoile des moments clés de l’intrigue.

Après un bref retour sur son passé, la série nous plonge dans un monde proche du notre dans lequel Saiga se voit investit d'une mission : infiltrer une organisation secrète ayant peut-être un lien avec un carnage, perpetré quelques jours plus tôt, durant lequel cinq politiciens s'opposant à une loi sur la pharmaceutique ont été tués.

Pénétrant sans mal une assemblée de cette organisation au but plus ou moins douteux (obtenir le "plaisir ultime"), Saiga assiste à l'arrivée d'une femme, la "Déesse", qui tombe du ciel. En bon photographe, Saiga ne peut s'empêcher de fixer cette scène sur sa pellicule...erreur fatale !
