Shinya Hashimoto (橋本真也?) est un catcheur japonais né le 3 juillet 1965 à Gifu et décédé le 11 juillet 2005 à Tokyo.

Carrière

Cinq fois champion du monde, il a remporté la ceinture de la NWA World Heavyweight Championship, été trois fois champion de la IWGP World Heavyweight Champion et une fois champion de la AJPW Triple Crown Heavyweight Champion. Il a détenu 2 fois la ceinture de IWGP World Tag Team Championship avec Masa Saito.

Amateur de judo devenu catcheur, il utilisait certaines prises de judo lorsqu'il luttait.

Il a fondé au Japon en 2001 avec Shinjiro Ohtani la Pro Wrestling ZERO1-MAX.

Hashimoto décède à Tokyo le 11 juillet 2005 d'une rupture d'anévrisme[1].

En 2004, il joue dans le film Rikidozan (역도산, Yeokdosan) réalisé par le coréen Song Hae-sung qui retrace la vie du catcheur Rikidōzan[2].
