Astrid Kirchherr est une artiste photographe allemande, née le 20 mai 1938 à Hambourg.
Biographie
En 1960, elle se rend avec son ami Klaus Voormann au club Kaiserkeller à Hambourg, où se produisent les Beatles — la formation d'alors comprenait Pete Best et Stuart Sutcliffe —, ce qui nous vaudra les premières photos professionnelles des Beatles.
Elle tombe amoureuse de Stuart Sutcliffe, le bassiste du groupe à Hambourg, sur qui elle « aurait expérimenté » la fameuse coupe Beatles. Ce dernier décide de rester à Hambourg avec elle et quitte donc les Beatles en 1961, mais décède brutalement d'une congestion cérébrale un an plus tard.
Elle a travaillé pour le magazine Stern et vit aujourd'hui à Hambourg.
