Rahul Sharad Dravid est un joueur de cricket international indien né le 11 janvier 1973 à Indore. Ce batteur débute avec l'équipe du Karnataka en 1991. Il est sélectionné pour la première fois avec l'équipe d'Inde en 1996 en Test cricket et en One-day International. Il est nommé capitaine de l'équipe nationale en 2005, un poste qu'il occupe jusqu'en 2007. En 2008, il devient le sixième batteur de l'histoire et le troisième Indien à passer la barre des 10 000 courses en test-matchs.

En mars 2008, lors d'une rencontre contre l'Afrique du Sud, Rahul Dravid devient le sixième joueur à franchir la barre des 10 000 runs en Test cricket, rejoignant ainsi notamment ses compatriotes Sunil Gavaskar et Sachin Tendulkar[1].
