REEM

REEM est un robot autonome humanoïde de service, programmable et de taille moyenne, développé par une équipe de la société PAL TECHNOLOGY ROBOTICS basée à Barcelone en Espagne.

Le premier prototype REEM-A a été créé pour jouer aux échecs et servir de base de programmation. Un nouveau prototype REEM-B viens d'être annoncé, celui-ci complètement autonome et doté de processeurs Core 2 Duo (1,66 GHz) et Geode (500 MHz), peut exécuter des tâches sophistiquées, communiquer avec les humains et recevoir des ordres vocaux.

Il a une autonomie de 120 minutes, peut marcher à la vitesse de 1,5 km/h et monter des escaliers.

Pour l'instant deux prototypes ont été créés : REEM-A et REEM-B.

Ce robot est équipé d'un microphone, d'une camera stéréo, des capteurs à 6 axes de forces, un accéléromètre et gyro, un capteur ultrasons, un laser range finder et peut reconnaître les personnes.
