Paolo Virzì

Paolo Virzì est un réalisateur et scénariste italien, né à Livourne le 4 mars 1964.

Biographie

Diplômé du Centre expérimental du cinéma de Rome où il a suivi l'enseignement de Furio Scarpelli, il se dirige vers une activité de scénariste pour la télévision et le cinéma. Il est l'auteur, entre autres, de Turné, de Gabriele Salvatores et de Centro storico de Roberto Giannarelli. En 1994, il signe son premier film de long métrage en tant que réalisateur avec La bella vita, primé avec l'obtention du Golden Ciak à la 51e Mostra de Venise[1]. Après Vacances d'août (1995) (Ferie d'agosto), son second long métrage, il tourne en 1997 Ovosodo qui obtient la même année, le Grand prix spécial du jury et le Little Golden Lion à la 54e Mostra de Venise[2], puis Baci e abbracci (1998), My Name is Tanino (2002), Caterina va en ville (2004), Napoléon (et moi) (2006) avec l'acteur Daniel Auteuil et Tutta la vita davanti (2008)
