L'ornithine carbamoyltransférase (ou ornithine transcarbamylase, ou encore OTC) est une enzyme catalysant la réaction de carbamoylation de l'ornithine en citrulline et inversement.
Structure
L'OTC se présente sous la forme d'un trimère. Le site catalytique est situé à l'interface des trois monomères.

Voies métaboliques
L'OTC intervient, chez la plupart des organismes, dans la voie de biosynthèse de l'arginine. Chez les mammifères, l'OTC fait aussi partie du cycle de l'urée.
L'OTC peut aussi être utilisée dans les voies de dégradations de l'arginine chez certains microorganismes.
