Région postérieure du corps des chélicérates (spécifique au phylum des arachnidés) résultant de la fusion du mésosome et du métasome. Se reconnaît par le fait que l'opisthosome ne porte aucun appendice, par opposition au prosome. C'est l'abdomen chez les araignées.
