Le NYFCC Award est une récompense délivrée tous les ans par le New York Film Critics Circle (Cercle des critiques de film de New York), composé aujourd'hui d'environ trente-cinq critiques cinématographiques de toute la presse new-yorkaise.

Quelques catégories

Initialement prévu pour les seules six premières catégories, cette récompense est attribuée aujourd'hui pour :

  • le meilleur film (best picture)
  • le meilleur acteur (best actor)
  • la meilleure actrice (best actress)
  • le meilleur réalisateur (best director)
  • le meilleur scénario (best screenplay)
  • le meilleur film étranger (best foreign film)
  • le meilleur acteur dans un second rôle (best supporting actor)
  • la meilleure actrice dans un second rôle (best supporting actress)
  • le meilleur directeur de la photographie (best cinematographer)
  • le meilleur documentaire (best documentary)
  • le meilleur nouveau réalisateur (best new director)
  • la réédition la plus remarquable (most distinguished re-issue)
  • le meilleur premier film (best first film)
  • le meilleur film « réalité » (best non-fiction film)
  • le meilleur film d'animation (best animated film)
Selon les années, un prix spécial (special award) peut être remis.
