Anthony Callea est un chanteur australien né le 13 décembre 1982 à Melbourne. Il a été découvert par le public grâce à la saison 2 de l'émission Australian Idol. Il a notamment été remarqué pour son interprétation de The Prayer.
À sa sortie de l'émission, son premier album a remporté un franc succès avec notamment les chansons The Prayer et Rain. Pour ce premier single, il est le devenu le chanteur qui a vendu le plus de CD en Australie de tous les temps.
Il a sorti un second album, et a participé à plusieurs comédies musicales et fait beaucoup de concert.
Il est également connu pour être gay. Lors d'une émission de radio, un animateur révéla par erreur qu'il avait aperçu Anthony avec son petit copain. La nouvelle fit le tour de la planète. Jusqu'à ce moment-là, il se disait être hétérosexuel. Cet événement fut très marquant pour l'Australie[réf. nécessaire].
