n. f.

Attitude, situation où se tient le corps; manière dont on tient son corps, sa tête, ses bras, ses jambes, etc. Posture commode, incommode, libre, naturelle, forcée, gênée, contrainte, indécente, ridicule. Il le menaça et se mit en posture de le frapper. Il s’est présenté au prince en posture de suppliant. Il ne sait dans quelle posture se mettre.

Il se dit figurément de l’état où est quelqu’un par rapport à sa situation morale ou sociale, à son crédit. Il est en bonne posture auprès des pouvoirs publics.
