(Les deux consonnes finales se prononcent.) Action ou état de deux corps qui se touchent. Le contact de deux corps. Point de contact. Il y a des maladies qui se communiquent par le contact. Contact médiat. Contact immédiat.   Il s'emploie quelquefois, au figuré, dans le sens de Liaison, relation. Dès que le commerce eut mis ces peuples en contact avec les nations civilisées.
