. s. m.
Il se dit d'Un papier où sont tracées plusieurs lignes noires, et dont on se sert pour s'accoutumer a écrire droit, en le mettant sous le papier lorsqu'on écrit. Cet enfant ne saurait écrire sans transparent. Écrire avec un transparent.   Il se dit aussi Du papier huilé derrière lequel on place des lumières dans les décorations. Une illumination en transparents.   Il se dit plus particulièrement d'Une sorte de tableau sur toile, sur gaze, sur papier huilé ou verni, etc., qu'on expose la nuit, dans certaines occasions de réjouissance, et derrière lequel on met des lumières pour faire paraître ce qu'il représente. Il y avait au fond du jardin un magnifique transparent.
