SPÉCIMEN
. s. m.
(On prononce, au singulier et au pluriel, Spécimène ). Mot emprunté du latin. Modèle, échantillon. Il se dit surtout en parlant D'ouvrages scientifiques, d'éditions nouvelles, etc. Il va publier un spécimen de son ouvrage sur les étymologies. Un spécimen de la nouvelle édition est joint au prospectus. Des spécimens.
