Action par laquelle on rend une chose publique et notoire. La publication de la guerre. La publication de la paix. Depuis la publication de telle ordonnance. La publication des bans d'un mariage. La publication de l'Évangile.   La publication d'un livre, L'action de le mettre en vente, de le faire paraître. Je ne sais quelle cause a retardé la publication de son livre. On dit dans un sens analogue, La publication d'un journal, d'un écrit périodique.
